Professionalism in The Workplace Policy

Scope

This policy affects all employees who are employed by The Vets Sales and Support Department.

Policy Elements:

The purpose of this policy is to define and promote appropriate professional values, attributes and behaviours which together set the standards of professionalism. Employees shall be responsible for promoting a positive, professional environment at The Vets. In addition, an employee shall avoid any personal act or omission that may adversely affect employee relations, customer relationships, or the proper performance of one’s role and/or delivery of our services. 

Employee Accountability:


As a condition of employment, all employees of The Vets are accountable for their personal, professional and ethical behaviour within The Vets as set forth in this policy on professionalism.

Employees Should:

  • Report conduct contrary to this policy on professionalism to their manager
  • Use appropriate language at all times
  • Respect their fellow teammates at all times
  • Show integrity and professionalism in the workplace
  • Be friendly and collaborative 
  • Be open for communication with their colleagues, supervisors or team members and act with the expectation of supporting one another and properly representing the company

Employees Should NOT:

  • Disrupt the workplace or present obstacles to their colleagues’ work
  • Conduct themselves in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner
  • Use foul language when communicating with team members, supervisors, etc.
