Yesterday we saw a dog that was microchipped by a shelter as a puppy and when she was a few months old, she escaped from home and they weren't able to find her. 3.5 YEARS pass and someone found her, had her scanned, and the owner was contacted to come get her. We were there to do a general checkup and update her vaccines and she's in great health other than tartar on her teeth.
The owner, who gave us permission to share the story, is retired military. The dog is SUPER sweet and cute. Its interesting - she's 3.5 years old but still acts just like a silly puppy. She is very sweet, looks like she's half hound, a quarter pointer/setter, and a quarter American pit bull terrier. She has zero aggression. Microchips save lives!!!
