Dr. Frane Banovic

Frane Banovic, DVM, PhD, DECVD, is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Dermatology in the Department for Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Banovic finished a PhD with a focus on veterinary microbiology. In 2011, he moved to the USA for a residency in dermatology and a Fellowship in Investigative Dermatology at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine (2011-2015).Dr Banovic favors interdisciplinary approaches to biological questions and incorporates basic immunology as well as cell biological and biochemical tests in his research on inflammatory skin diseases in veterinary dermatology. His main research interests lie in the field of comparative allergies, related staphylococcal skin infections and autoimmune skin diseases.Dr. Banovic has served as the chair of the Scientific Committee for the European Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in 2019 and 2021. He has published over 50 scientific articles and review papers and he has been invited all over the world to lecture to veterinary and medical audiences.
