2023 Employee Handbook

Greetings! The HR team wishes everyone a very warm welcome to 2023! 

To make sure that you have the most up-to-date Company policies, and as part of annual compliance efforts, we are rolling out the 2023 U.S Employee Handbook. Later today, you will receive an email to log into Justworks to review and sign the handbook notification via Justworks.

Please be sure to review the important material contained in the handbook and sign electronically on Justworks no later than Friday, March 3, 2023.

After you have acknowledged receipt and agreed to the Handbook, it will be available to view in your documents on Justworks.

In the meantime, here are a few highlights for the 2023 handbook:

Paid Time Off

  • We have documented PTO policies which were absent in the original version. Your PTO has not changed.

Paid Sick and Safe Time

  • Effective March 1, 2023, new field hires (including City Managers, Veterinarians, and Veterinary Technicians) will accrue paid sick and safe time at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours accrued per calendar year, unless a greater accrual cap is required by law. Field employees hired prior to March 1, 2023, will transition to accrued paid sick on January 1, 2024.

Parental Leave

  • Eligibility: Full-time employees in the US who are primary caregivers and have been employed for at least 12 months prior to the first day of parental leave will receive a maximum of six weeks of paid parental leave pursuant to this policy per birth, adoption, or placement of a child/children. 

State Supplements

  • We have added state supplements to outline areas where the policy is different in a particular state.  The stand Company handbook applies unless otherwise stated in the supplement.
